The short version
We are Surplus Funds Consulting LLC, a private foreclosure surplus recovery company. We review public foreclosure sale records and contact people who may have a right to surplus funds. Our letter is not a bill and not a government notice. You can verify the information yourself before deciding anything.
Who contacted me?
Surplus Funds Consulting LLC, a private company that helps former homeowners and heirs recover money left over after mortgage foreclosure sales. We are not a government agency, court, law firm or foreclosure trustee. You can reach us at (678) 616-7527 or team@surplusfundsconsulting.com.
Why was I contacted?
Our research of public records suggests a foreclosure sale of a property connected to you may have produced more money than was owed. Records list former owners, and sometimes we contact relatives when an owner appears to have died.
Is this company legitimate?
Please check us out. Our company name, contact details and how we work are published on this site. We never ask for payment before you have a written agreement, and we never ask for bank details or Social Security numbers by letter, text or through our website.
Is there actually money connected to my former property?
Possibly. Our letter means the records suggest it, not that it is confirmed or that you are entitled to it. Other lienholders or family members may also have claims. Only the court or office holding the funds can confirm the amount.
How can I verify the information myself?
Call the clerk of court in the county where the property was sold, or the trustee named in the foreclosure notice, and ask whether surplus funds from the sale are being held. Ask for the report of sale or distribution record. You do not need us to do this.
What can your company do for me?
If you choose to work with us, we handle the recovery process under a written agreement: confirming the funds, identifying competing claims, preparing the claim and following it through, with a licensed attorney involved when the case requires one. See how we help.
What happens if I contact you?
We confirm who you are and which property our letter concerned, answer your questions, and explain your options, including claiming on your own. If you want our help and we can take the case, we send you a written agreement to review. Nothing is decided on the first call.
What might the service cost?
It costs nothing to talk to us. If you decide to work with us, our fee and how it is calculated are written into the agreement before any work begins. The fee depends on the case and on your state's rules, and some states cap what recovery companies may charge.
I don't want to be contacted again. What should I do?
Tell us by phone, email or the contact form and we will stop. Include your reference code if you have it so we can find your record.
Your reference code
Your letter includes a reference code that starts with SFC-. Enter it when you contact us so we can find your file quickly. The code only identifies our letter. It is not a claim number from any court.
